Beneficiaries

SMEs and NPMEs with CAE:

  • 03210 – Aquaculture in Salty and Brackish Waters;
  • 03220 – Freshwater Aquaculture; and
  • 46381 – Wholesale Fish, Crustaceans and Molluscs.

Grants

  • Minimum rate: 50%;
  • SMES: 60%;
  • Start-up projects or projects in co-promotion with entities from the scientific system: 75%; and
  • Public companies: 100%.
  • Non-repayable grants (non-repayable fund).

Eligible Expenses

  • Setting up start-ups and spin-offs with the aim of starting up aquaculture production;
  • Construction or modernization of aquaculture production units, hatcheries or related establishments, handling, conditioning and packaging units when integrated into aquaculture establishments, and installation of live bivalve mollusc transposition zones;
  • Diversification of aquaculture production and cultivated species;
  • Modernization of aquaculture production units or related establishments;
  • Decarbonization, through the construction or modernization of support vessels for aquaculture activities that encourage the use of renewable energies, or the use of marketing and transport vehicles with low carbon emissions;
  • Support for the promotion of animal health and welfare;
  • Rehabilitation of natural or artificial ponds used for aquaculture;
  • Investments in closed recirculation systems or in certification processes and the registration of trademarks or patents;
  • Organization of companies, particularly for management training.
